BCHN Adds Two New Health Centers
Increases Access to Healthcare for Thousands of Bronx Residents
BRONX, N.Y.— Bronx Community Health Network, Inc. (BCHN) is delighted to announce that it has added two new sites to its list of affiliated health centers – Stevenson Educational Campus school-based health center and the Montefiore Via Verde Family Practice.
Since its inception, BCHN has helped thousands of Bronx residents access affordable, quality healthcare and related services at its affiliated sites. The now 17 sites are located throughout the Bronx and offer residents a range of health-related services regardless of ability to pay, immigration, race, or ethnic status.
“I am delighted that these two centers have been added to the list of our affiliated health centers. I am especially pleased that we can make this announcement after our celebrations last week—National Health Centers Week— when we took part in the nation-wide celebration of the creation of the first two community health clinics 50 years ago,” said Eleanor Larrier, BCHN CEO. “These two new centers will have a profound impact on the lives of those families near Via Verde, in the Melrose section of the South Bronx, and the students that attend the schools in the Stevenson Educational Campus. Students will have easy access medical, behavioral and oral health services with minimal disruption to their daily schedules. We expect to see less absenteeism and enhanced academic and social performance.”
